Amber

Amberunia Petunia, aka Ambitronica Destructica

The brains of the operation; always scheming, always plotting. A genuine sweetheart with a stubborn streak and the most will-piercing whimper for treats and toys. She craves attention from her human, and loves the concept of meeting others until she remembers she’s too shy to carry through with introductions. More likely to be found setting up a fortress of solitude under a bench or behind a rock than running around with new friends at the dog park.

Likes: chewing on tennis balls; chasing tennis balls; catching tennis balls; rolling tennis balls off the edges of beds and couches; hiding tennis balls under furniture so I have to get involved and recover them.

Dislikes: everything that isn’t a tennis ball.

Alfie

Alfius Maximus, aka Alfipotimus Hieronymus

Amber’s twin brother from the same tri-color beagle mother (and jindo/akita father, too, I suppose). Joined at the hip with his sister since day one, he’s done his level best to comfort her through international flights, cross-country road trips, and five minute delays in dinner. A heart of gold, and putty in anyone’s lap, his only criminal tendency is the obsession with stealing every single one of his sister’s toys. His thieving is always followed by attempts to make up by grooming and cuddling, even when (perhaps especially when) the bed is too small for him to nudge his way in next to her.

Likes: literally everything.

Dislikes: doesn’t know what the word means.

Nobodius Importantus, aka Portraitura Avoidura

I’ve built a few things over less than a few years, always with the help of more talented friends, and contributed in small ways to even more. There’s a pretty good chance you’ve used some of those things. I’ve tried on occasion to help others along the way, but more often it’s worked in the other direction. Their efforts and contributions have been colossal, even if there’s still so much of the pathway to decency I have yet to tread.

Here I share a few of the things I’ve seen, and the infrequent, half-formed thoughts about matters I probably have no business, and rarely any expertise, to chime in on.
